A Special Thanks to our Friends
When you say you live in Riverwood and that we are “Self Managed”….I feel proud. It means that homeowners care enough to step up to help run our Organization. To look out for the Maintenance of our homes from top to bottom, to our Treasurer who collects, tracks our HOA Fees and pays our bills. The Budget and Insurance Committees keep us on track, while Keys, Rental Garages, Parking, and our Rosters are kept updated. The Welcome committee, greeting & helping our new neighbors get settled in. Recreation, in charge of the money making Garage Sale & organizing our Potluck get-togethers. The Architecture Group, making sure no one paints their garage door purple! The Landscape Ladies, keeping us green, and the Pool crew testing our PH levels. Our important Newsletter, keeping us up on what’s going on in our little village. And let’s not forget our valued Board Members and our beloved Secretary Delores Gradin who moved from us, with Laurel McAfee thankfully taking her place, in other words…. I’m saying this place doesn’t run itself!
We want to honor two incredible Ladies who have ALWAYS stepped forward, volunteering their time and have been instrumental in making Riverwood the best it can be. Ashleigh Norment, our valued Treasurer and Tama October, who made our Newsletter a joy to read. That was just the titles they held… but they were so much more. Always there to help when needed, heading up special projects with a smile, all with an incredible work ethic and a way of making things go so smoothly. But most importantly they became our dear, dear friends. We will miss their positivity, their unwavering support, both for Riverwood and for those of us who were lucky enough to call them our friends. We will miss them and wish them nothing but the best. But we expect to see them around, thankfully they’re not moving far from us.
We honor them for their selfless service to Riverwood, they will be missed. But…in keeping with volunteering, Irene Hennessey has stepped up as our “Temporary“ Treasurer ( we are looking for someone to step forward to help out, please) and a very special thanks to our brand new homeowner, Robin Redwine in DW#60 who has stepped forward to take over the Newsletter. We THANK YOU both so much!
So…PLEASE get involved, it’s really important and you might just make some great new friends. Pick a committee and join us. Your views and talents are welcome! Kris Clarke
BEV GRANATO–Message from her children
Bev died June 9, 2022. Riverwood has been a part of Bev, and all of her family since 1992. Mom moved to Riverwood after selling the home that we lived in for over 20 years. She lived there for a couple years, moved out and my sister and family moved in for a couple years. Mom returned to Riverwood in 1998 and lived there until 2021.
When mom came back she became more involved with the community there and I believe she was also on the board. She also did the newsletter. Her favorite part of Riverwood was the pool! She loved the freedom of movement she could have in the water; the chance to spend fun times with her grandkids in the water but mostly she loved the adult-only time and chance to float with the other Mermaids. If we wanted to talk to mom during the summer, we knew not to call between 3:30 and 6:30pm!
Mom made a lot of friends at Riverwood, some of whom she continued to connect with after they left, or when she left. We are thankful to all you who loved and supported her.
We are planning to have a Celebration of Life this summer and you are welcome to attend. Information will be posted here: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ourmomsjourney9 and we will also let Carol Hardy know when the event is scheduled.
Thank you all, Gina, John, Vince and Julie
